Hiked from McRitchie Reservoir to Bukit Timah just now.
I think many must have done before. This is my first time to complete the full route. Went to MacRitchie several times, not that I'm like a frog in a well!
I went there with a friend. Saw so many trees, and trees and trees again.
However, someday, I wish to go again.
Breathing amongst the greeneries, make us feel so refresh. But the 12km trail had exhausted my feet.
So we started off from the Reservoir. My eyes saw trees, my nose smelt trees, my ears heard birds, my 6th-sense sensed... trees. Anyway there were alot runners while we were hiking.
Less running start walking, so you can become more aware of your surrounding with clear mind. Of course running is healthy, but too much over doing is a wreckling damage to our knees and minds.
Trees, trees again at Treetop walk which required us to climb alot of stairs. Only one-way so no u-turn. Good lesson for the indecisive.
Then enter the Jelutong Tower. Bird-eye view of more trees again! Of course if you are lucky, you can spot eagles hovering in the skies. So, I am lucky!
After the winds kissed our skins and played with our hairs for sometimes, we headed towards Bukit Timah.
At first we went towards the Upper/Lower Peirce Reservoir but there's no complete route. We found another route. Way out, we saw a bright green snake.
We were greeted by several monkies and monitor lizard and giant millepede while travelling on the Rifle Range. First time ever saw a millipede the length of half foot long, like your Subway sandwich.
We found Kampong Trail with Nangka Trail and Durian Loop which lead us back to MacRitchie. the other half of the Trail which lead along Rifle Range Road were surrounded by warnings so we never explore. Grrr...
For your information, Nangka in English, it is Jackfruit. Bukit means Mountain or Hill. Timah means very high. Kampong means village. Durian is the Thorny fruit which may cause your fingers to bleed, and your nose either bleed or puke. ;)
I thought we should head towards the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, but we were too hungry. We started about 9.40am and ended at around 2.30pm settling our lunch at Bukit Timah Food Centre.
This is meaningful to me.
Connecting to the nature.
Breathing amongst the nature.
Caring for the nature.
I feel sad to see so many fallen trees. :(
May you start to care for nature!
May all the trees and plants be well and happy.
May all beings be blessed with a good heart and good mind.
